Science World Outdoor Exhibit

This outdoor play/learn structure for Parks Canada in association with Science World, Vancouver BC, involved the creation of a hands-on, climbable display to highlight the different ways we share spaces with wildlife and explain the following content:
• The challenges that wildlife have to negotiate in order to survive—both in a mountain park and a city setting.
• The initiatives that are underway to help animals survive in an increasingly divided natural environment.
The concept behind the design was for children or visitors to represent the only moving parts of the exhibit—children are encouraged to climb and crawl over and under the structure while pretending to be birds, animals, people or cars. Custom mural-painting and original sculptures create an over-all engaging playscape to navigate and explore.
