Kwisitis Visitor Centre

Metro was responsible for 4 major murals in this Parks Canada Visitor Centre, stunning perched on the rocky shoreline looking into the vast Pacific Ocean. The topics included a cut-away water column painting backing the welcome desk and staff, at the front entrance, a diorama backing a traditional hunting canoe now populated with figures sculpted by Bryn Finer and team, a rain forest interior mural with over 90 specific species illustrated - wrapping on to adjacent walls on 2 levels - and an interior look within a traditional long house, dimly peopled by characters and living implements - all a backdrop to a stage meant for demonstrations and conversations about traditional Indigenous craft, art and knowledge.
